தேவன் ஆதியிலே எல்லாவற்றையும் படைத்தார். அவர் உலகம் முழுவதையும் ஆறு நாளில் . தேவன் பூமியை உருவக்கினபின்பு அது இருளும் வெறுமையுமாய் இருந்தது, ஏனெனில் உலகில் எதையும் உண்டாக்கவில்லை, ஆனால் தேவ ஆவியானவர் ஜலத்தின்மேல் அசைவாடிக்கொண்டிருந்தார். பின்பு தேவன் வெளிச்சம் உண்டாகக்கடவது என்றார் உடனே வெளிச்சம் உண்டாயிற்று. வெளிச்சத்தை தேவன் நல்லதென்று கண்டார் எனவே அதை பகல் என்று , இருளினின்று விலக்கி. முதலாம் நாளில் தேவன் வெளிச்சத்தை உண்டாக்கினார்.
